Sell Before You Build

The cheapest way to learn whether something is wanted is to try to sell it before it exists.

Building is the most expensive way to test demand. This is about getting a yes — a pre-order, a signed LOI, a deposit — before you write the code, and why a soft “that’s cool” is worth nothing.

This piece will cover:

  • Commitment as the only real signal
  • Ways to sell the thing before it exists
  • Reading a real yes vs. a polite one

Working draft — an outline for now; the full version is coming.
